Spellbinders August Clubs RoundUp

Hello, cardmaking friends—happy Monday and welcome back! Today I’m sharing a Spellbinders August Clubs Roundup, featuring my final three cards of the month: the Stencil Club, the BetterPress Club, and the Stitched Club. It’s truly been a fabulous month of undersea adventures with the August kits, and these last three projects continue that playful ocean-inspired theme.

Handmade underwater-themed greeting cards created with the Spellbinders August Club Kits. Designs feature colorful die-cut fish, coral, and seaweed with embossed ocean backgrounds. Sentiments include ‘Make a Splash, It’s Your Day,’ ‘Drift and Dream,’ and ‘It’s OK to Float Awhile.’ The cards showcase vibrant aquatic scenes with layered die cuts, bubbles, and textured details

Products Used for Today’s Cards:

Handmade underwater-themed card created with the Spellbinders August Stencil of the Month Club for the layered ocean background, featuring seaweed, bubbles, and star accents. The dimensional fish, die-cut with the Large Die of the Month, swims in the center. The card is finished with a bold sentiment strip that reads ‘Make a Splash, It’s Your Day.

Begin with the 5-piece stacking stencil set to create the vibrant underwater background for your die-cut embellishments. I blended Distress Oxide Inks in Wilted Violet, Mowed Lawn, Broken China, and Mermaid Lagoon for a layered ocean effect. A #10 Sakura Gelly Roll Pen adds crisp white accents and highlights.

Next, die-cut the two-tone teal goldfish using the Splash Tails Large Die of the Month Kit. Attach it with foam squares to give the fish dimension and movement.

To finish, use the Paper Splashes Clear Stamp and Die Set to white heat-emboss a sentiment on a scrap of purple cardstock, then add it to the card for a bold finishing touch.

Handmade card created with the Spellbinders August BetterPress Plate, featuring a school of whimsical fish white Glimmer Foiled onto a watercolor background. The background is painted with Lindy’s Magical Powders in shades of teal, turquoise, and deep green, creating a vibrant ocean effect. The sentiment reads ‘A Little Note from the Whole Group.

Spellbinders August Clubs RoundUp – BetterPress of the Month.

Start by creating a watercolor panel 4″ x 5-1/4″.  Lay it on a protected surface and spritz it with water before adding Tim Travel Teal and Lucky Shamrock Green Lindy’s magical powders to it.  Pick the paper up and roll it around to move the pigment, add more water to help blend it.  Set it aside to dry.

Next, warm up the Glimmer Hot Foil machine.  Add the Fish Parade BetterPress Plate to the machine, and a sentiment under it.  Cover it with white foil and then your water colored card front.  Glimmer foil the piece.

Then, attach it to a top folding A2 sized white card base.

Handmade card featuring a stitched paper boat created with the Spellbinders Stitched Die of the Month. The boat is stitched in white with teal accents, floating on layered die-cut waves in aqua and navy. A red banner and flag with a heart add a cheerful nautical touch, and a sentiment strip reading “Folded With Love” completes the design.

tart by die-cutting all the boat pieces and stitching them with DMC #964 teal thread. Assemble the boat with glue, then add the mast and festive flags.

Next, use the scalloped edge die to cut waves from three shades of cardstock: Waterfall, Teal Topaz, and Oceanside. Die-cut the background with the Essential Arches set, trimming the sides of the three wave pieces to fit.

Layer and glue the waves together, leaving an opening between the top two layers so the stitched boat can be tucked inside for added dimension.

Finish the design with a coordinating die-cut sentiment from the set for the perfect nautical touch.

That wraps up my club kit projects for this month! I hope you’ve enjoyed the cards and feel inspired to create your own versions.
