Spellbinders Aug 2024 Club Embossing Folders

Hi card making friends.  I have two new card tutorials for you today using the NEW Spellbinders Aug 2024 Club Embossing Folders.  The August Monthly Clubs opened yesterday and once again, WOW, I’m blown away with the products.  I’m over the moon for the Large Die of the Month, Colorful Expressions Blooms, with their large stunning flowers and foliage.  The two new embossing folders fit this months theme perfectly.  The 3D is Floral Expressions is a riot of deeply etch florals, and the regular embossing folder, Hand Drawn Lines is quietly elegant.  I have used both for today’s cards.

PLEASE NOTE: This post contains affiliate links. See below for my full disclosure

The sentiments for today’s cards are created with the  Small Die of the Month set, Colorful Expressions Sentiments.  I LOVE the rounded feel of the font, and that each word has a shadow die.  It makes creating two-layer sentiments SO EASY, and they are the perfect size too.

Start with a piece of white card stock 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ spritz with water and emboss it with the Floral Expressions 3D Embossing Folder before attaching it to a top folding A2 Sized white card base 4-1/4″ x 11″, score and fold at 5-1/2.

Next, die cut the flower and buds from the Purple Mist cardstock and the leaves and stems from Rainforest.  The large loopy overlay for the large flower and the stamens for the buds are cut from the NEW Gold Assortment Treasured Cardstock.

Add Depth of Field to your Die Cuts with Ink Blending.

Next, using blending brushes and distress oxide inks in Wilted Violet and Rustic Wilderness, ink blend the bottoms of the flowers and the centers of the leaves and stems before gluing them together and adding them to the card.

Finally, ink up a scrap of the Purple Mist card stock with the Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Ink and then cut the sentiment from it, cut the sentiment shadow from a scrap of black.  Glue the two together and add them to the bottom left of the card.

Embellish with Crystal Mix Color Essential Gems

The measurements and instructions for the card base are the same as above, except using the Hand Drawn Lines Embossing Folder.

Next, cut the large pink flower from Pink Sand cardstock and the yellow bits from Chamomile.  The leaves are all cut from Rain Forest.

This selection is ink blended with Fossilized Amber, Rustic Wilderness and picked Raspberry inks to add shadow and depth to the pieces.

Then, glue the layers together and add them to the card front using foam squares.

Finally, add a sentiment using the Colorful Expressions Sentiment dies and embellish with Color Essential Gems in Peridot and Crystal Mix.
